::recipe:: Blizzard Survival 101

Everyone in the Northeast Region is snowed in tonight.  Highways in Pennsylvania and Delaware were shut down and the city of Philadelphia has already announced they will not be open tomorrow.  Hopefully, with this record snowfall everyone was able to get out and make sure they had the essentials…bread, eggs, and milk.

We certainly used one of the last storms as a good excuse for some French Toast.  I like to make mine with about 20-30% milk, some cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.  I also put a bit of cardamom in this time around.  Sprinkle with some powdered sugar and drizzle with REAL maple syrup.  How do you make yours?

    I should get back to work but…

    I use a stale baguette cut on the angle accompanied with fried banana, bacon and of course REAL maple syrup.

      Glad I was able to distract 🙂 Mission accomplished! Stale baguette would be perfect for french toast. But when snowed in….we take what we can get 😉
